CENSESEstablishment of a Centre for Communication and Entrepreneurship Skills (CENSES)

It is announced for the information of the Community that the University has established a Centre for Communication and Entrepreneurship Skills (CENSES) to serve as the nucleus of the future Faculty of Integrated Management Sciences.

The Centre will be a servicing Department and will not run its own degree programmes. It will operate at the level of a Department but will not be subsumed under any Faculty. For this reason, the Head of the Centre will report to the Vice Chancellor.

The Centre will co-ordinate the teaching of the general study courses in the University. For the moment, the courses involved are the following:

Communication Skills
Literature in English
Law of Contract and Torts
Public Relations
Economic Development Planning
Business Entrepreneurship

By the establishment of the Centre, the Languages Section of the Mining Engineering Department has been dissolved.

At its 33rd (Regular) meeting held on 17th June, 2011 Council appointed Dr (Mrs) P. B. Mireku-Gyimah as the Head of the Centre for a one year period with effect from 1st August, 2011 to 31st July, 2012.

All Heads of Departments and Co-ordinator of the University Examinations are, by this circular, being informed to liaise with the Head of the Centre on allocation of lecturers and lecture periods for their programmes.
