Seth Boahen is currently an assistant lecturer at the department of Management Studies at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT). He holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Management from the University of Education, Winneba and a Master of Science degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he is currently pursuing his MPhil in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Mr Boahen has a diverse professional background, starting with his role as a Field Tax Collector at the Ghana Revenue Authority in 2005. He then moved on to the National Health Insurance Authority at Assin Foso as a Data Input Officer, where he worked before beginning his Bachelor’s degree. During his education, Mr Boahen also worked part-time as a teacher in two commercial schools in Kumasi, Joy Professional Academy and Anglican Commercial School, teaching Business Management and Entrepreneurship. After completing his National Service in 2011 as a Data Entry Clerk with the Births and Deaths Registry in Sekondi, he joined the UMaT research team working on the Buruli Ulcer, Inundations and Land Disturbances research project as a Research Assistant. He was then co-opted into another research project funded by the Hilson Foundation on the “Informalization of the Small Scale Mining Sector in Ghana” as a research assistant. Additionally, Mr Boahen was appointed as the head of the Ghana team of enumerators working on the research project on the Backward Linkages of Largescale Mining in Ghana project funded by the Institute of Development and Policy Management (University of Antwerp - Belgium). In 2017, Mr Boahen took on a contract role as Warehouse and Port Operations Officer at the Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company’s takeover centre in Kumasi. After completing the contract, he moved to Accra and joined a transport company as an Admin/Research and Monitoring Officer. Throughout his career, Mr Boahen has demonstrated a passion for learning and personal development.
