Prof Temeng Presenting a Citation to Mr Rowland Baffoe from the PQAU
The University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa has organised the 2018 day of relaxation as part of efforts by the University management to bring members of the University community together to fraternise, socialise and to relax from the year’s exhausting activities and hard work. This was the 3rd in the series. The featuring band was the Real SBS Band of Tarkwa. The Real SBS Band put up a display with real music talent to the admiration of all present. Staff and students also danced beautifully to the songs with joy. The day of relaxation is an event that is captured in the University’s strategic plan.

This year’s event saw the introduction of a health talk and a health walk. The talk centred on the report of the health screening that was carried out by the University Clinic in February this year and a talk delivered by Mr Pious Lord Yalley, a Dietician from the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital. Mr Yalley encouraged all members to take their health issues seriously and also to visit the health facility regularly to know their health status. He encouraged members to exercise regularly to keep fit. As part of the programme, some members of the University Community went for a health walk to keep fit on Saturday, 5th May, 2018.
