Prof Victor Amoako Temeng is an Associate Professor in the Mining Engineering Department of the University of Mines and Technology. He obtained his BSc (Hons) and PgD in Mining Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology School of Mines in 1985 and 1986 respectively. He obtained his MSc Mining Engineering degree from the University of Zambia in 1992.
He worked as a Mining/Milling Supervisor at the Ghana Consolidated Diamonds Ltd. from 1989 until he joined the University of Mines and Technology as Teaching Assistant in 1990. He obtained his PhD degree in Mining Engineering from the Michigan Technological University, USA in 1997. His areas of research include Operations Research, Materials Handling, Mine Planning, Modeling and Simulation of Mine Production and Equipment Systems.
Assoc Prof Temeng has served the University in various capacities as Head of Section, Head of Department, Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies, Vice Dean and Dean as well as Chairman or Member of several statutory and ad hoc committees. He has also served as a Professorial member of the University Council and on a number of committees of Council. Assoc Prof Temeng has served as a member of some national committees. He is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GHIE).
