The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) wishes to inform graduands and the general public that the 17th Congregation Ceremony for postgraduate and undergraduate students who completed their programmes during the 2025/2025 academic year.

  • Only Graduands will be permitted entry into the congregation venue.
  • Graduation fee payment deadline: Tuesday, 25th November 2025..
  • Rehearsal: Friday, 28th November 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
  • Certificates and transcripts issued immediately after return of gowns.

The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) wishes to inform graduands and the general public that the 17th Congregation Ceremony for postgraduate and undergraduate students who completed their programmes during the 2024/2025 academic year will be held as follows:

Important Instructions for Graduands

Admission:

  • ✔️Only Graduands will be permitted entry into the congregation venue.
  • ✔️Graduands must be seated in the University Auditorium, dressed in the appropriate academic gown for their degree and Schools/Faculties, 30 minutes before the commencement of their session.

Deadline for Payment: Tuesday, 25th November 2025.

Graduands who are unable to attend the ceremony must still pay the graduation fee before certificates can be issued.

Collection of Gowns and Souvenirs

Graduands must make all required payments before collecting their gowns and souvenirs.

Date: 24th – 28th November 2025
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Location: Respective Schools/Faculties

Graduands from the School of Railways and Infrastructure Development (SRID) are to collect theirs from the Estate Unit at the Auditorium.

Please present your bank payment voucher or other proof of payment to collect your gown and souvenirs.

Collection of Certificates and Transcripts

Certificates and transcripts will be issued immediately after the ceremony upon the return of academic gowns at the respective Schools/Faculties.

Graduands are required to:
  • Present their UMaT Student ID Card;
  • Provide proof of payment for verification;
  • Collect certificates and transcripts from your respective Schools/Faculties;

Graduands from the School of Railways and Infrastructure Development will collect their certificates and transcripts at the University Auditorium.

Note:

Graduands who are unable to collect their certificates on the day of the congregation may do so at their respective Schools/Faculties in the days immediately following the programme. However, from Monday, 8th December 2025, all uncollected certificates will be issued only at the Academic and Student Affairs Office (Room 312) .
