The Tarkwa Divisional Commander of the Ghana Police Service Chief Superintendent George Kwabena Kumah has paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof R. K. Amankwah at his Office. He was accompanied by the District Police Commander Chief Superintendent Thomas Osei-Ababio and the Divisional Crime Officer, Superintendent Kusi Appiah.
According to the Tarkwa Divisional Commander, the visit was a reciprocal one following the Vice Chancellor’s familiarisation visit he undertook shortly after he assumed office as the Vice Chancellor of UMaT. He gave an assurance that his Administration will help ensure the security of the University Community and that it will be of paramount importance so that academic work will progress in peace and harmony at all times. He further assured that the Police Patrol Team will intensify their work in and around the University to give the needed protection to students, staff and other members of the University Community.

Prof R. K. Amankwah was full of praise for the visit and guaranteed that Management of the UMaT will cooperate fully with the Police in the discharge of their duties to ensure law and order prevails within the University Community in general and the student front in particular.

Okrah; the Chairman of the Security Services Management Committee, Dr, Frank Boateng; the Head of the University Security Unit, Lt. Col (Rtd), Boakye-Yiadom Asare; the University Relations Officer of UMaT, Mr Paul Yeboah and the Head of the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, Mr Michael Hammond.
