UMaT, Liugong and Golden Dream Limited Collaborate

The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two leading global companies namely LiuGong, a multinational construction machinery giant and Golden Dream Limited, a prominent player in the mining industry. The collaboration, which is a fusion of technology and entrepreneurship promises to reshape the landscape of mining and construction industries in Ghana. This partnership would pave the way for groundbreaking advancements which will readily address unforeseen challenges, and thus keep a journey that would captivate the imagination of all involved.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Richard Amankwah, other members of Management and Senior Officers of the University warmly received the representatives of the two companies, Zhang Peng, C.E.O and Shi Hauhong of Golden Dream Limited, Ghana and Liuxiauo Lin from LiuGong Machinery Company Limited.

The Vice Chancellor was optimistic that the collaboration will go a long way for the mutual benefit of the parties and also benefit the larger Ghanaian society. The representatives of the two companies also pledged their commitment to the agreements reached and looked forward for the implementation according to the timelines agreed upon.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), LiuGong and Golden Dream Limited stands for a significant collaboration in the field of mining and construction. The key areas of cooperation include Joint Research and Development Projects, Training and Workshops, Technology Transfer, Internship and Placement Opportunities, Joint Collaborative Initiatives and Knowledge Sharing.

UMaT's academic prowess and research capabilities will combine with Liugong's innovative machinery and technological solutions, along with Golden Dream Limited's practical industry insights. Together, they aspire to address challenges faced by the mining sector and contribute to its sustainable development.

Under the MoU, Faculty Members and Students of the University will be exposed to Liugong's advanced equipment and technologies, enabling them to gain practical experience and stay updated with industry trends. Collaborative research projects and knowledge-sharing initiatives will enhance the overall competence of both academia and industry professionals.
