Research Interest
Dr Emmanuel Daanoba SUNKARI is a Ghanaian by birth, an Applied Geochemist, a Lecturer at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Ghana, and a former Research Fellow of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). His research aims to contribute significantly to our understanding of the petrology, genesis, and geodynamic setting of hydrothermal ore deposits using multidisciplinary and multi-scale approaches, supported by fieldwork and various high-precision analytical techniques.
His research also focuses on unravelling the geochemical evolution of groundwater, groundwater contamination sources, health implications emanating from groundwater contamination (especially dental fluorosis), and proffering remedial and mitigation measures to safeguard the health, social well-being, and livelihood of people. He has several years of experience in groundwater fluoride contamination studies in Northern Ghana. He has published over thirty-nine peer-reviewed scientific papers on these subjects and orally presented more than thirty-eight scientific works in conferences regarding these areas. He has strong scientific collaborations with many Geoscientists from Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco, Ethiopia, Turkey, India, Romania, Portugal, and USA, which has culminated in the diversified nature of his scientific works.
