Research Interest

His research areas are in resource recovery and waste to energy technologies and research work done include:
The development of the first reported demonstration biochar reactors used in Ghana to be stationed in the ten regions of Ghana under a Government of Ghana contract
The development of a step feed anaerobic fermentation of foodwaste model.
Isolation of indigenous enzymes for the hydrolysis of fruit waste,’
Bioethanol and biodiesel production
Conversion of faecal sludge to biodiesel (FS2BD), a Bill and Melinda Gates sponsored research.

Engr. Ato Fanyin – Martin is an assistant lecturer with the Department of Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering Department, University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana as well as a Certificate in Lab Safety, Chemical Hygiene and Hazardous Waste Management from Columbia University, New York where he spent one year as a Research Scholar at the Kartik Chandran Lab at the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Chemical Engineering, KNUST.
He has participated in and facilitated several local, national, and international research conferences.
He is a Licenced Engineer with the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana (IET, Gh).
