I am a registered architect of the Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA), and my main areas of interest are inclusive designs; building maintenance and rehabilitation; and sustainable architecture and energy efficiency. I am quite proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, 3DsMax, the EDGE App, Corel Draw, and Photoshop for designing purposes. I also have a strong interest in interior design and graphic design.
I graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a BSc in Architecture and an M. Arch Architecture, and I later worked there as a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Architecture during the National Service Training. I got the opportunity to collaborate with students on the Kyebi Peri-Urban Survey, ‘Afromobitecture’ (African Mobile Architecture), ‘Bambitecture’ (Bamboo Architecture), and barrier-free or inclusive designs.
Moving on, I worked as a Junior Architect at MAAJ Design Solutions where I aided with the design and supervision of the construction of climate-sensitive projects like mixed-use facilities, residential facilities, commercial facilities, and banking facilities for the Ecobank Ghana head office and Dansoman branch. I also helped with the project management of building construction, restoration, and demolition projects.
Additionally, I managed the activities of construction workers at Fairafric Ghana Ltd where I served as the Project Coordinator for the factory, office, and restaurant facility. I also prepared drawings and specifications for the project's Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or Detailed Design Phase.
I am currently employed by UMAT as an Architect and the head of The Physical Planning and Design Section of The Works and Physical Developments office, where I am in charge of organizing and managing building design activities, site visits, and construction project supervision, as well as coordinating with other building experts to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects.
I seek to utilize my expertise to lead change, mentor younger ones and make the world a better place than I came to meet it.
