Dr Ernest Kwame Affum (Dr EK) is Management Consultant, Author, Public Speaker, Mentor, Life Coach, Conference Speaker and Lecturer at the Department of Management Studies, University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa. He is also a certified trainer with the Ghana Statistical Service. Dr Affum possesses PhD in Economics (with specialization in Industrial Economics) and MBA (Strategic Management), both obtained from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), Wuhan, Hubei, China, and a BSc. in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Ghana Business School. Dr Affum has wide experience in business management and administration, sales and marketing, business development and operations from industries such as healthcare, banking and finance, food and beverage, automobile and real estate having worked with Devtraco Limited, Valkom Enterprise, E K Bonsu Limited, Rakes Company (Barclays Bank), Ajeks Company Limited and the Sunyani Regional Hospital. Dr Affum has tutored, as fulltime and Part-time lecturer, in  courses such as communication, economics, financial and management accounting, auditing, marketing, corporate finance, business law, principles of project management, and strategic management in the Wuhan Textiles University (WTU), Birmingham Institute of Fashion and Creative Arts (BIFCA), Wuhan, China Universities Summer School Association (CUSSA) China, University of Ghana and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). As a public speaker and trainer, he has spoken in several conferences across China and Ghana on Institutional Leadership Development, Relationships, Business Start-Up and Development, Events Planning and Management, academic research, SMEs and AfCFTA, among others. Dr Affum was National Trainer and Team Leader, Center Lead and District Field Supervisor for Ghana’s 2021 Population and Housing Census. As author, Dr Affum has written several motivational, educational and inspirational articles for magazines, blogs and conferences. Dr Affum is the author of the books, EKs Quotes: LIFE Tunes Vol I and II’, an inspiration read. Dr Affum is both supervisor and reviewer for master’s and doctoral degree candidates, as well as Emerald Publishing’s International Journal of Workplace Health Management.

Dr Affum’s research interests cover areas such as SMEs, Innovation, Technology Transfer, Industrial Organisations, Business Development, Leadership Development, Human Resources and Economic Growth.
